Placeholder thought of the day.

Fear can often give rise to an intensified attachment, because if we fear something might be taken away, we will crave for a means to secure it. By its very nature, desire brings fear, because we look to an unstable, changing world to bring us stable happiness. Thus we stand on quicksand, compounding the problem by blaming ourselves for failing to find security in this frantic and illusory pursuit. (Sharon Salzberg, Lovingkindness, pg 66)
